We are excited to announce the release of Ketryx 2.8, which is focused on enabling component reuse. While your product may be complex, Ketryx simplifies your workflows  so that you can build and navigate microservice architectures and systems of systems with ease. Enhancements to system of systems functionality, eQMS, and cybersecurity tooling within Ketryx, alongside new AI functionality, make it easier than ever for medical device companies to release safer software faster.

AI

Instantly Generate Release Notes with AI-Powered Summaries

Ketryx users can leverage AI functionality in release document templates to summarize configuration items and create release notes. Documents generated from a release can be hundreds of pages long, so the ability to automatically create summaries saves time and eliminates tedious manual work, like counting new or changed requirements. Once Ketryx Copilot receives the query (i.e. “Summarize which new requirements were added or obsoleted in this version”), it proposes a summary that the user can then edit to meet their needs. This feature streamlines documentation processes and enhances productivity, freeing teams up to continue creating life-saving software rather than manually creating documentation.

Ketryx Copilot Increases Flexibility and Security

The Ketryx Copilot, your Ketryx AI partner, can now be connected to either a Ketryx-owned instance or customers’ own LLM instances (i.e. OpenAI or MS Azure login), offering greater flexibility around where information is sent and processed. By empowering customers with the option to utilize their preferred AI infrastructure, this change provides enhanced data security, flexibility, and control in using AI tools within the Ketryx platform.

Cybersecurity

CycloneDX Integration Makes SBOM Generation Easy

Commonly used SCA and SBOM tools like Snyk and Black Duck output SPDX and CycloneDX files, but don’t provide an easy way to monitor vulnerabilities over time. By uploading a CycloneDX file to Ketryx, Ketryx will automatically populate your dependencies list so you can stay on top of risks related to cybersecurity.

Threat Modeling Enhances SBOM Functionality

Documenting your threat model is now part of Ketryx’s SBOM tool, enabling users to easily reference outputs from their STRIDE threat modeling process. Users can now link a Jira ticket documenting a threat to the appropriate risk and risk mitigation. This feature strengthens the cybersecurity of your products by allowing you to see and connect vulnerabilities to the measures you are taking to combat them.

System of Systems

Powerful System of Systems Capability Increases Visibility

We continue to enhance system of systems functionality, which lets you quickly and easily see which items in each project reference items from other projects. Now, you can select a granular subset of referenced items that will show up consistently across all screens and documents in a project, improving the visibility and traceability within complex systems of systems or microservices. This functionality makes component reuse easier and more streamlined, giving you a complete view from every screen of shared items across multiple projects. You can also more easily spot unlinked items to ensure full traceability across all items in your projects.

eQMS

eQMS Enhancements Improve eDMS Search, Previews, and Training

You can now search the eDMS by title, allowing you to easily find the document you need among all the compliance documentation you have stored in Ketryx.

You can also now preview Word documents natively in the eDMS, eliminating the need to download the document in order to view it.

The expanded training dashboard now includes the ability to filter by version and by group (Developers, Quality Control, etc.), making it faster and easier to see who still needs to complete their training so you can stay compliant.

Version History in Release Document Templates Speeds Up Approvals

Ketryx’s document templates have always been highly customizable, and now we’ve made it easier and faster for you to add customization that will speed up approvals. With the new ability to see version history in your release documents, you get a detailed and comprehensive view of the project’s history and evolution over time. Now, an approver can look at a release document and easily see previous versions of configuration items like requirements, what has changed, and how these items have progressed without having to manually compare between versions. The approver can easily approve new and changed items, making the often-lengthy approval process faster and more seamless so you can accelerate your release cycles.

Enhanced Risk Management Workflow Increases Product Quality

You can now manage risks solely within Ketryx – without the need for a Jira connection – more smoothly and intuitively with the ability to easily edit, transition, and approve a risk from the Risk Management page. We’ve also added guidance on what fields need to be adjusted to get the record into an approvable state when an item cannot be approved (e.g., due to missing or incorrect information), streamlining your approvals workflow.

With these enhancements, Ketryx continues to empower medical software teams to speed up their release cycles. Improvements to the eQMS, SBOM, and AI functionality enable MedTechs to perform truly connected lifecycle management across systems while reducing the complexity of component reuse, releasing faster and higher-quality products through microservices, AI, and FDA-compliant cybersecurity management.
